Use of the tools
The tools are provided free of charge for personal and commercial use. You may use the results however you like. You agree not to misuse the site, attempt to disrupt it, or use it for unlawful purposes.
Financial calculators are estimates, not advice
This is the most important term on this page. The loan calculators on HardCalc — including those for home equity lines of credit, home equity loans, RV, boat, land and motorcycle financing — produce mathematical estimates for planning and comparison only. They are not financial, lending, tax or legal advice, and they are not an offer of credit.
Specifically:
- We are not a lender, broker or financial adviser, and no relationship of that kind is created by using this site.
- Your actual payment, rate and terms are set by a lender based on your credit, income, debt ratio, the asset being financed and your state. They may differ substantially from any estimate shown here.
- Any rates, terms, down payments or fee ranges described in the articles are general market ranges gathered for context, not quotes, and they change over time.
- Taxes, registration, titling and fee treatment vary by state and by lender. Tax deductibility of interest depends on your individual circumstances.
- Decisions involving your home, your savings or a loan you will carry for years should be checked with a qualified lender, accountant or financial professional before you act.
No warranty
The tools are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. While every calculator is covered by automated tests that verify its formulas, we cannot guarantee that results are free of error or suitable for any particular purpose. Counts, estimates and conversions are approximations. Do not rely on them where precision is critical without verifying independently.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, HardCalc is not liable for any damages, including financial loss, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site, its tools or its content.
Third-party content
The site displays third-party advertising. We are not responsible for the content of ads or of external sites they link to, and an advertisement does not constitute an endorsement of the advertiser or its products.
Embedding our calculators
You may embed the calculator widget we provide on your own website, free of charge, provided the attribution link back to HardCalc is kept intact. We may change or retire the widget at any time.
